Bead Sequestering Cell patent awarded

E-mail Print PDF

Fox Island, WA - Dec 3, 2009 - Scientists at Global FIA were awarded a patent for the Bead Sequestering Cell developed for the autonomous pathogen detection system (APDS) developed in conjunction with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).  This tube-in-shell device allows for precise sequestering of miniature (5 µm) beads so that desired antibody chemistries can be performed on the surface of the beads.  A unique feature of the device is that it allows the beads to be quantitatively released from the trap for subsequent detection once the chemistry is completed.  Global FIA used its Zone Fluidics technology to manipulate the beads in the trap.  For more information contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
